Master's board | New Kingdom | Dra abu-Naga (TT 11-12) | Wood Coated with Stucco
Discovered in 2004 during excavations by the Spanish mission to Dra abu-Naga, this master's board bears the plans for several pieces of royal art. On one side, atop a carefully planned grid, are the figures of two royal statues. On the other side, inverted as if the artist had flipped the board over, is the figure of a king in the red crown of Lower Egypt fowling the marshes, perhaps the plan for a wall relief.
